Meet the Artist
Jacky
Silcox, artist and calligrapher
Born in London, Jacky briefly attended The South London Art School and London College
of Printing before moving to Kent.
Jackys main love is calligraphy and she belongs to the Society of Scribes and
Illuminators. Many works are commissioned by the National Trust for their properties in
the South East. Celebration plaques using 24 carat gold are very popular, especially for
weddings, births and christenings. Occasionally she can be seen working in the gallery on
one of her commissions.
Jacky also paints both in oil and watercolour mainly landscapes but will accept
commissions on most subjects.
She runs one-day art courses in both calligraphy and watercolour (for beginners) at
Lower Halstow and has her own picture framing business, Rowan Arts. Recently, she has
appeared as the resident artist in LWT Home on their Own presented by Ulrika
Johnson (but is not holding her breath for fame and fortune!) Click on
